Galactic50: Day 25 Lone Pine, California

We had a great night with some great friends, but today we are on to a place I have been worried about since I started planning this trip. Death Valley, with a very appropriate name, reaches temps I was not looking forward to. We found a camp ground, near Death Valley but up in the mountains, so we were hoping for a break in the temperature. We left Reno early in the day, and with a 5 hour drive ahead of us we skipped our daily breakfast routine and grabbed some snacks on the go.A small tourist town about an hour and half from Death Valley, Lone Pine, California was where we found our campsite and with the temperature well over a 100 it was clear this would not be our mountain oasis I was hoping for. We set up camp, and made our way to town for some food and air conditioning. We made a plan for the night and where we wanted to shoot the Milky Way, and even came up with a better plan for the next few days. We decided to skip Death Valley and head to Zion early. By moving up my schedule a little it enables to me have a little more time in the states I was unable to get because of weather, so it worked out perfect for me.Thoughts from the road:Dry heat, wet heat, I really don't care 1113 degrees is HOT!Music from the Road:Harry Connick Jr., Chris Stapleton, John MayerPhotos from the road:
