Have you seen an Angry Crab!
Today we take a little break from the landscape photos to discover a new NJ staple. When I was home, I had a great pleasure of spending the day with The Angry Crab. What is the Angry Crab you ask? Just the best food truck hanging around Jersey City. Run by Chef Chris Curado and Mike Ponte, the Angry Crab is one of the newest food trucks to grace the streets of NJ. Chef Curado and Mike wanted to bring the oncefamous Angry Lobster, served at the family's NY Restaurant "Ponte's" for years, to the next generation and what better way to do that, than on the streets of NJ. Taking his soon to be world famous crab cakes to the next level, Chef Chris created the sandwich that would be the pillar of his food truck, The Angry Crab Sandwich. Filling out the menu with other great treats, like the Angry Lobster Roll, its easy to see why NJ has fallen in love with an Angry Crab. Chef Curado is a fresh up and coming Chef out of Northern New Jersey, he has studied in Italy, under a Michelin Star Chef and has long been a staple of the NJ restaurant scene, working as the Chef de Cuisine at Chakra in Paramus, Executive Chef at Etsy Street, and General Manager of City Bistro in Hoboken. With all his experience in the restaurant world it is no surprise Chef Curado is taking the food truck cuisine to the next level.I was hoping for a better day to go and photograph the Angry Crab crew, but being home for just a short time didn't allow me too much wiggle room, so I took what I could get and on a rainy December day joined the crew for lunch hour down in Jersey City. Even though the weather didn't cooperate, we saw plenty of action at The Angry Crab showing just how fast word spreads for great food. The Angry Cab mainly works out of Jersey City, but is also available for catering and special events. You can follow the The Angry Crab here and stay up to date on where and when they will be out.
