Before I give you an update on Galactic50: A photography project, I would like to say thank you to everyone who followed me this past summer. It was a long trip and your support was needed and very well appreciated. The amazing love everyone showed all my pictures gave me the motivation I needed to complete this epic journey. Now onto the update. In my last post, I had started my journey back east. I had multiple routes planned for the way home, to try and beat the weather.
A Rocky Mountain Night Experience!
My initial thought for Colorado was to simply see more of it and not worry about the Milky Way. And because of that I had planned on being there when I couldn’t shoot the because of the Moon. However, some luck was due on this trip
Badlands, South Dakota
With my time in Colorado all finished up, I started my way back east today. As I make my way back home, I will be stopping at all the places where I was unsuccessful. First stop on that list,
Pikes Peak: America’s Mountain
Sitting at just over 14,ooo feet, Pikes Peak is a true Colorado beauty. It is no wonder to me why its called America’s Mountain.
Sunset among the Gods
After a long night at the dunes, we woke up early and headed out. Our next stop was a place I have been longing to see. Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs has been on my list ever since I moved to Colorado. Located in Colorado Springs, Garden of the Gods is a magical place.
After a nice refreshing stay in Durango, my buddy and I headed east to the Great Sand Dunes National Park. Our excitement level was very high, since this weekend would be the height of the years biggest meteor shower.
After an amazing weekend in Idaho, I took off on another long drive. This time my destination was a place I know all too well. Back to the place where my night photography all started, Durango, Colorado.
Antelope Island was originally a two day stop. However, with the soaring temperatures and bad campsite, I decided to start my trip to Idaho a day early.
I am feeling refreshed, leaving Zion. I’m also very much looking forward to the weeks ahead. My next stop is Antelope Island on the Great Salt Lake in Utah.
